Once redeveloped, Grant Lodge will become the principal gateway to Cooper Park and a lynchpin for the Cultural Quarter with key connections to Elgin Museum, Elgin Cathedral, Elgin Library, Elgin Town Hall and beyond.
Award winning architectural practice Page\Park Architects is leading the re-design and restoration of the heritage gem in the heart of Moray.
Grant Lodge will be a place for celebration and relaxation. This new Culture will host activities while linking with interests, attractions, heritage sites, and experiences across the region.
Grant Lodge will provide the following facilities and functions:
• A thriving tourism/heritage hub for Moray
• A welcoming café/restaurant
• Well-appointed flexible function spaces for events such as small weddings, formal dinners, seminars or recitals
• Private dining/corporate entertainment
• A house of stories: The complimentary uses of exhibition/interpretation spaces
• Exhibition/Gallery space
• An events base in the park supporting visitors and park activities.
Construction works are anticipated to begin in 2027.

National Lottery support helps move redevelopment forward. In February, the Lottery awarded £212,427 to support the next stage of the redevelopment. Development funding will assist with detailed designs and specialist surveys, refine the business and operational plans alongside partners, develop branding and a website, and plan a range of heritage activities to contribute to the final offering at Grant Lodge.
The National Lottery Heritage Fund is the largest funder for the UK’s heritage. Using money raised by National Lottery players we support projects that connect people and communities to heritage. Our vision is for heritage to be valued, cared for and sustained for everyone, now and in the future. From historic buildings, our industrial legacy and the natural environment, to collections, traditions, stories and more. Heritage can be anything from the past that people value and want to pass on to future generations. We believe in the power of heritage to ignite the imagination, offer joy and inspiration, and to build pride in place and connection to the past.
The Grant Lodge Trust have campaigned tirelessly to bring the much-loved Grant Lodge back to life. They are an important partner in the Cultural Quarter to support the advancement of both the capital project and the future sustainability of Grant Lodge.
