The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond, has said the UK Government is aiming for ‘progress’ on the Moray Growth Deal, as a meeting is set up with Moray MP Douglas Ross to discuss the bid for the multi-million pound deal.
The meeting, proposed by Douglas Ross, will convey the benefits the Growth Deal could bring to the region. These benefits include the recently announced Cultural Quarter, Moray College UHI Hubs and Industry 4.0 Hub.
Commenting on the upcoming meeting with the Chancellor, Douglas Ross, Moray MP, said: “Economic growth in Moray will get a huge boost when the growth deal is agreed. It has got the support of businesses and communities throughout the area.
“I’m pleased that things are moving forward with it. I’ve hosted visits with Scotland Office ministers and want to ensure that Moray’s case continues to be made at the highest levels of government.
“The area badly needs this funding to boost the local economy and provide great opportunities.”
